First trip to the beach

A couple days after we got to Ventura we went to the beach. It was Audrey's first time and I wasn't sure how she would react to the sand. (She cried the first few times she stood on grass.) She did great, she really liked it. And of course, she put a handful of sand in her mouth!

Memorial Day BBQ

The day after we arrived in Ventura we went to a barbecue at my Aunt Sara's house. It was so nice to see the other side of my family again and to finally meet all my cousins! My aunt's and I did a lot of catching up, Audrey had fun being held by my cousins Amanda and Emily (she loved pulling their hair and necklaces!) and I had a great time driving the girls around the neighborhood in Uncle Art's golf cart. And of course, there was tons of great food prepared by my dad, Uncle Art and cousin Tym!

There's no way this water is 80 degrees!!

Getting Audrey in the pool was like getting a cat into a bath!

She was not happy with the water temperature.

She didn't really like the hot tub either.

We finally found something she enjoyed: Ice cream!

Aquarium of the Bay part 3

After the big tunnels of fish, sharks and rays we went upstairs to see more animals. There we got to pet rays and starfish. There might have been little sharks too, I don't remember. Forrest thought it was really cool, I didn't like petting the starfish because they were slimy.

Audrey liked looking at the variety of land animals they had. There were snakes, frogs and tarantulas, but her favorites were the chinchillas. They're so cute, how could anyone not love them?

Aquarium of the Bay part 2

These pictures were taken while walking through the tunnels. It was neat to see so many different kinds of fish living together. There was a super huge fish of some kind in the tunnel with the sardines. He swam so fast we couldn't get a good picture of him, but we did get a pretty good video! I'll be sure to post that along with some other videos from the aquarium.

Huge school of sardines.

Me being terrified and grossed out by the octopus.

"Audrey, look at the sharks!"

A rare 7 Gill Shark.

For some reason I just could not get a decent picture of Audrey and Forrest. They were all blurry. This was the best.

Aquarium of the Bay part 1

During our day in San Francisco we went to the Aquarium of the Bay because we knew Audrey would love it. She loves our fish tanks at home so I knew she'd have a great time. She really liked seeing the very colorful tropical fish and really wanted to grab the crabs in one tank. She was amazed by the jellyfish and I was too!

We didn't get to ride the carousel, but it was really cool.

CA trip Part 3

Forrest took a picture of some Corvettes at the drive-through tree.

I drove through the tree (scary!!) so Forrest could take good pics.
